Autobiography of a Yogi is written by Paramahansa Yogananda . The book is based on Paramhans Yogananda's life, how he found his Guru and what he learnt on kriya yoga etc. The book also taught about meditation and yoga across Eastern and Western regions. He established a school Yogoda Satsanga Brahmacharya Vidyalaya . He lectured in United States about self realization fellowship. Spreading self realisation, yoga and meditation, he wondered so many countries. He came back to India in1935. He met with spiritual figures such as Therese Neuman in Bavaria , the Hindu saint Anand Moyi Ma , Mahatma Gandhi , Rabindranath Tagore , Nobel prize winning physicist sir C.V. Raman and Giri Bala a yogi woman who never eats. Some part of the book is written by anthropologist Walter Evans-Wentz . He studied Tibetan Buddhism .
