BOOK REVIEW: AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI

Autobiography of a yogi book is written by Paramhans YogaNanda. It is based on his life, finding his Guru, spreading yoga across the world. I choose this book as I love to be spiritual. I believe in learning through guru. I am practicing yoga from so many years. For me these things like having Guru for learning and practicing yoga are the things that complete my life. Learning keeps our mind active and mentally fit. while reading books teach us so many things of different variety.

In the book we read different thing. I read first time in my life about Paramahansa Yogananda. He had a desire to follow spiritually by going to Himalayas. His guru Yukteswar guided him by saying- it is not necessary to go to Himalayas. There are so many people live in Himalayas but still they do not possess any God-perception. He also said, "Wisdom is better sought from a man of realisation than from an inert mountain." So we do not need to go to Himalayas to follow spiritual path.

Lahiri Mahasaya wanted to attain enlightenment. He wanted to leave his family and stay with his Guru. His guru guided him. You do not need to leave your family rather continue your family life and be an example to the family men.

Why be elated by material profit? The one who pursues a goal of even mindedness is neither Jubilant with gain or depressed by loss. Everyone knows that everyone came to this word without money and everyone will leave this world without money.

Many people may have a doubt that knowing God is the purpose of our life. Everyone should accept the idea that the purpose of life is to find happiness. God is happiness. He is bliss. He is love. He is joy that will never go away from your soul. So we should attain happiness. No one else can give it to us. We must have to find it.

There are so many reasons that's why well-known figures like Steve Jobs and Virat Kohli praised this book, in their interviews and different forums.

I recommend this book to read. In first reading, it is difficult to comprehend. In second reading, third reading and many ratings are required to really appreciate the book. Every time we read the book, we realise something new, some new facts of life.
